What is Upcycling? A fun presentation looking at upcycled fashions from practical everyday wear to imaginative costumes. We will share information about the Third Annual Upcycled Fashion Show sponsored by the Governor Wentworth Arts Council and Makers Mill and how you can participate if you wish.
Clothing Swap Bring your unwanted/ unneeded clothing and fabric items for free-wheeling trade. Doesn’t fit? Not your style any longer? Curtains, sheets, bedspreads from before you re-decorated? These could be the foundation materials for an upcycling project. Let’s swap materials and exchange ideas!

Years of work as a designer in the garment industry enhanced her knowledge of professional construction techniques, patternmaking and fitting, and sewing shortcuts. She has designed and produced clothing, theater costumes, large banner installations, commercial retail displays, décor items, as well as 3-D stuffed toys and dolls. She sees learning to sew as a handy life skill and a creative expression technique.
Jeanne Flanagan grew up in a creative family that made everything from clothes to go-carts. Here at Makers Mill, Jeanne wears several hats as the Leader of our Fiber/Crafts Arts Circle and as an instructor. Jeanne has been a makerspace instructor for many years in MA and has a wealth of knowledge about fiber arts.
