The Governor Wentworth Arts Council (GWAC)
Arts Scholarship is for graduating seniors in the Governor Wentworth School District who will be attending a continuing education program in the arts.
The use of the word “arts” is intentional and meant to encompass more than traditional fine art programs. Applicants may be attending programs ranging from performing arts, to visual art, to fine craft programs. Examples include but are not limited to: attendance at fine art school, participation in a graphic design program, training in a theater troupe, or apprenticeship with a craftsperson.
If you are unsure that your chosen program fits the “arts” criteria, please contact the Grants Chairperson.
Up to two seniors will be awarded $1,000 each.
Selected awardees will be publicly recognized in GWAC publications.
Applications open January 1 - April 30
Award recipients will be notified in May
The GWAC Arts Scholarship was formerly known as the Visual Arts Fund, it was revised in 2022 to be more inclusive.
