Jerome Holden of J.C. Signs specializes in hand-carved and gold leaf signs, and he most enjoys the hand work that is enhanced by computer aided design and layout. Holden offers hand lettering and custom artwork as creative services in conjunction with his finished signs. Illustrated scenes and special visual effects requiring painting techniques, including airbrushing, are available. Holden started in the sign business in 1989, making it his full-time occupation in 1995. Over the years he has continued to develop skills in different areas of the business in a variety of ways, including attendance at trade shows, industry events, and networking.
